Counselling is a talking therapy and allows you to discuss any problems or difficult feelings in a safe and confidential environment.
Counselling is a personal process, you are encouraged to talk about what's bothering you in order to uncover any root causes. Sometimes it is necessary to talk about painful and difficult feelings, so you may go through a period of feeling worse than when you started. As counter intuitive as this might sound, it's a sign that you're on the way to feeling better long-term.
Usually it will take several sessions before they start to make a difference, however on some occasions a few sessions may be enough.
The number of sessions depend on the reasons you're seeking counselling in the first place. It takes time to build trust which is crucially important for the counselling to be effective. The process moves at your pace, if you want to work deeply, that work takes time and deserves care.
The work may require a few sessions and sometimes it may continue over several weeks or months. We will discuss this during the initial session.
Sessions will be 50 minutes.
Most people have sessions once every week, but frequency can change according to your needs.
